
Vodafone won the Award for Responsible Governance at the Deloittes Top 200 Awards held at Sky Conference Centre in Auckland last week.

The Award was presented for Vodafone's responsible leadership decision to help lobby for regulation of handheld mobiles by drivers in order to improve road safety.

Vodafone, Telecom and the Department of Corrections won the Award for innovative use of ICT at the Computerworld Awards held in Wellington in 2009.
The Award was given for the completion of a successful project to deploy cellphone jamming equipment to the country's prisions. This project helps to reduce crime by combatting the use of cellphones to initiate crime from within prisons.
